Good afternoon and happy Monday. College football playoff pool is coming in hot. NFL still seeing more parity each and every week. King James gets tossed after an altercation on the court. MLB names its MVPs. The Quebec Nordiques are in talks with the NHL on the possibility of returning to the league. Meanwhile in Canada, the Prime Minister announce as of January 1 borders will be closed to all unvaccinated athletes moving forward. Lastly the USFL announced its eight cities for their relaunch that will play in bubble city Birmingham, Alabama starting in April of 2022. Michigan Panthers, Birmingham Stallions, Houston Gamblers, New Jersey Generals, Philadelphia Stars New Orleans Breakers, Pittsburgh Maulers, and the Tampa Bay Bandits were the choices to return with. Good choices in my opinion, but what say you?

Yellowstone showing no signs of becoming a bad show. Travis’ character is absolutely killing it. Fear the Walking Dead said goodbye to Al, which was a little disappointing, but perhaps her character’s arc had been maxed out. As we draw closer to the end of TWD paper, perhaps we see a return in some fashion. Mayor of Kingstown is the real deal. Jeremy Renner was made for this role. Power Book II: Ghost is back!!! Not only does Method Man return but his long time BFF Redman now joins the show. Invasion has three episodes left for the season, and while it’s been a slow reveal, I’m actually looking forward to each new episode. Last but not least Dexter is everything I hoped it would be in its return. Harrison is a good character, we are semi introduced to our next big bad, and we see Dexter scramble to foil the investigation that’s stationed on his property. I hope the show isn’t one and done.

Tampa Bay Times

Dan Mullen was let go by Florida this weekend after another loss for the Gators. He was in the forth year with the team. Could Bob Stoops be enticed to return to the team Steve Spurrier brought him to long long ago? Probably a long shot since he doesn’t have much interest in the grind that is recruiting and being away from home for so much time out of the year, but we’ll see.

LA Times

Houston Cougars to care of business against the Memphis Tigers, and are now winners of 10 straight. Utah put to bed any hope of Oregon getting in the CFP by beating the Ducks by 31. Cincinnati likely moving into the 4th spot after making short work of SMU. Clemson knocked of Wake Forest, and after a rocky start to the year they’ve compiled a respectable 8-3 record. Don’t look now, but it almost looks as if Chip Kelly’s “Hurry Up Offense” is taking shape at UCLA. “The Game” and “The Iron Bowl” this week, but never mind that when we will be blessed with the showdown that needs no nickname in, Maryland vs Rutgers.

The Athletic

Colts broke out the whooping stick on the Buffalo Bills, getting five touchdowns from Jonathan Taylor in the game. Ravens and Browns get narrow wins over the Bears and Lions. The Texans folded the universe on top of itself taking out the Titans. Dolphins over the Jets. Vikings left too much time on the clock for Aaron Rodgers, but then the Packers left too much time for Kirk Cousins as Minnesota won a wild one. Eagles put it on the Saints. Washington gets its 2nd in a row, spoiling the return of Cam Newton in the starting lineup. 49ers over the Jaguars bigly. Bengals over the Raiders and the Chiefs over Dem Boys. Colt McCoy and the Cardinals bounce back against the Seahawks and the Chargers win the shootout over the Steelers. Giants take on the Buccaneers tonight.
