GOOD FIGHT, GOOD NIGHT:BROWNS @ PATRIOTS
NFL Game Recap by John Turner
Ugly day in Foxboro but what else is new? After a first down the Browns held Tommy to three and out. Browns couldn’t do anything with their own drive and the game of field position was on. Pats would drive all the way down to the red zone but the Browns held Brady and company to three. Another week another defensive touchdown for the Patriot defense. Chubb angry about fumbling on the previous drive ran like a mad man for 55 yards… and then he fumbled at the end of the run inside the 5 yard line. The Browns turnover woes would continue as Baker Mayfield would shuffle pass one right into the hands of a New England defender, that was intended for Landry. A couple plays later, easy does it, Tom Brady to Julian Edelman for six and a 17-0 lead. Chubb two great runs to start the drive for the browns and on first and ten they jackpot themselves with a false start. They’d work into the Patriots side of the field then get hit for holding. Demetrius Harris would get the Browns on the scoreboard in the first half by catching a TD pass from Baker. Pats looking to go up a field goal had their plans blocked by Denzel Ward.
Nick Chubb would practice amnesia by continuing to pound away the memory of his two first half fumbles. He’d go over 100 on the ground in the opening drive of the half for Cleveland. On a drive that didn’t end in a turnover ended with the Browns getting three and getting within a score at 17-10. Browns nearly held the Pats to a punt but on third and 10 Brady hit James White on a perfectly timed screen that went 59 yards. That would lead to a second Edelman TD catch and a 24-10 lead.
