GOOD FIGHT, GOOD NIGHT: GIANTS @ LIONS

NFL Game Recap by John Turner

Detroit got off to an early lead with a sack strip recovery returned for a touchdown by Dixon. Stafford’s first four completions went to Amendola as the Lions offense looked crisp. A 49 yard bomb to Hall would give them a 14-0 lead in the first. Daniel Jones would close the gap with a money connection to fellow rookie WR Darius Slaton in the front corner of the end zone. They’d connect in almost the exact same fashion for another score to nearly tie it up, all but for a failed PAT attempt. Giants fans can rejoice at this young combination for years to come, not a bad set of triplets add Saquan and with Evans at TE this offense will be man on a mission for a hot minute.

Detroit kept their foot on the gas with Stafford hit Golladay for six and move the score to 24-13. On third and goal in the third Jones would run a play action pass to Evans to cap the drive and make it 24-19. Stafford would hit on a big bomb to Golladay again to make it a two score game early in the fourth. Jones to Latimer throw and catch lot the sideline late was a thing of beauty, but an incomplete pass on fourth would seal the fate of the Giants. G men would add a touchdown with Jones to Saquan.
