GOOD FIGHT, GOOD NIGHT: BUCCANEERS @ TITANS
NFL Game Recap by John Turner
Henry flashed wheels in from the one yard line with a little Beastquake action for 34 yards. The drive would stall but an interception by Butler would lead to a beautiful touch pass and a diving catch to put the Titans up 14-3 in the first half. With 45 seconds on the clock on third down at midfield, Winston out of the spread with trips right moved through the pocket and launch a big bomb to a leaping Mike Evans for a first down. It would set up a roll out pass to Evans on the drive three plays later. They’d try for two but the receiver couldn’t get two feet in and they’d go to the half trailing 17-15.
Bucs would take the lead in the third with another pitch and catch from Winston to Evans. That combo seems to be back to normal after going MIA for a stretch this year. Down 23-20 Tannehill hit AJ Brown on a TD pass involving broken coverage. They take a 27-23 lead with just under seven minutes to go. An unbelievable fake field goal call by Tennessee failed while Tampa caused a fumble on the play and took it back to the house… however the refs had for whatever reason blew the play dead at the spot of the fumble, negating the score. Winston on the ensuing play after the turnover goes on a monster scramble for gain while getting hit late out of bounds, but naturally there was no call there. A determined Bucs team muscled down field with good play calling and smart football. On the Titans 31 yard line on fourth and one down by four the Bucs ran up the middle and were stoned like a Hatian Dictator.
